Our Policies
Please review these policies before booking your trip.
Cancellation Policy
48+ hours before departure
Cancel or reschedule yourself for a full refund — use the link in your confirmation email or visit manage.
24–48 hours before departure
Cancellations in this window receive a 50% refund.
Within 24 hours of departure
Cancellations within 24 hours of departure are charged the full rate (no refund).
Reschedules: You may reschedule any time another time slot is available.
Weather cancellations: Only Northern Lake George Boat Tours LLC can cancel a trip due to weather — including dangerous wind or water conditions. We wait until your departure time to make the call, since mountain weather changes by the hour. If we cancel, you’ll receive a full refund or we’ll work with you to reschedule — your choice.
Liability Waiver
All guests must sign a liability waiver before boarding. The waiver releases Northern Lake George Boat Tours LLC (Hague, NY) and covers the assumption of risk inherent in boating and on-water recreation.
A link to sign the waiver electronically is included in your booking confirmation email. You can also share the link with your party so everyone in it can sign before arrival. On a shared cruise, your link covers your own party — other guests aboard sign through their own booking.
For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign on their behalf.
Gift Certificates
Terms and conditions apply to gift certificates
- Redeemable for trips only.
- Valid toward any trip with us — private charters and shared cruises alike. Not valid for merchandise, food and drink, gratuities, or purchases from other businesses.
- No expiration date. No fees.
- The full value stays available for as long as you hold it.
- Partial use is fine.
- Any unused balance stays on the code. If your trip costs more, pay the difference when you book.
- Not returnable or refundable.
- Not redeemable for cash, except that New York law lets you request cash for a remaining balance under $5.
- Treat this code like cash.
- Anyone holding it can use it. We can replace an unused balance if you lose the code — contact us — but not value someone else has already spent.
- Standard booking policies apply.
- Cancellations and reschedules follow our usual policy, and refunds go back to the certificate rather than to a card.

General Policies
- •Safety first. The captain has final say on all safety decisions, including route changes and activity restrictions based on conditions.
- •Life jackets. A U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jacket is provided for every guest. New York State law requires children under 12 to wear one at all times while on board, and we ask that non-swimmers do the same. For the best fit, we recommend children bring their own properly-sized life jacket, though we’re glad to provide a youth size — just let us know what you need.
- •Safe loading. For your safety, the captain has final authority over how the boat is loaded and seated, and may adjust seating — or in rare cases limit boarding — if a group’s combined weight could affect safe operation. If your party includes several larger adults, let us know when booking so we can plan ahead.
- •Party size. Maximum 6 passengers. A private charter is a flat boat rate up to that capacity; shared cruises are priced per person, by the seat.
- •Minors. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the entire trip, and a guardian must sign the waiver on their behalf.
- •Arrival. Please arrive 15 minutes early at your designated meeting point.
- •Restroom breaks. There’s no restroom on board, so we recommend using the facilities before departure. On longer trips we’re glad to make a quick shore stop when needed.
- •No pets. Our boat is not pet friendly. We respectfully ask that you follow this policy.
- •BYOB welcome. Feel free to bring food and beverages, including beer and wine, in one cooler (40 quarts or smaller, no styrofoam). Please drink responsibly. The captain retains authority to end the trip early without refund if intoxication compromises safety.
- •No glass containers. For everyone’s safety on a moving boat, please bring drinks and food in cans or plastic containers only — no glass bottles or jars.
- •No smoking or vaping. For guest comfort and fire safety, smoking and vaping are not permitted on board.
- •Footwear. Please wear secure, flat, non-marking shoes — no high heels — to protect the deck and your footing.
- •Clean up. Please take any trash with you when you leave the boat.
